. Why Speak Up About this Issue? Because it's way past time to start openly and publicly talking about the relationship between forced motherhood, (anti-abortion) and religion. Because it's time for moderate and open-minded Christians to take back Christianity° from the narrow-minded, ultra-conservative, religious extremists. Because it's time to re-establish the delicate balance between church and state that our Forefathers set up when they wrote the American Constitution. To those who oppose choice and to those who oppose religious freedom for everybody but themselves, we say: "Invite us to discuss the religious aspect of the abortion issue on your radio or TV talk shows and in front of your church members. Invite us to talk about those Biblical passages that have been so cleverly ignored for centuries, such as John 1:1, Ecclesiastes 11:5, John 14:12, and Genesis 2:7" . What does the evidence tell us? We offer seven major pieces of evidence supporting the conclusion that abortion is a religious freedom issue. We also assert that the forced motherhood claims are based on illusions, and on un-provable religious beliefs, and that they are supported by lies of omission and inflammatory rhetoric. Let's openly and publicly talk about these aspects of abortion. Let's let the evidence speak for itself. . |

. 1) Why Abortion Is a Religious Freedom Issue: BECAUSE: We don’t know When Life Begins,° and We have no way to find out the answers to these questions. The
basic abortion question is not about It's not about whether or not the zygote/ embryo/ fetus is alive, human, and unique. The real question is: What is life and where is it located?° Is life the physical body, itself? ° or is life in the spirit which inhabits the physical body?° There are Three Possible Conclusions Regarding What a Human Being Actually Is. a) Is the anti-abortionist version of Christian "one-life-ism" correct? Is a human a brand new being created AS a physical body by God at conception?°b) Are reincarnation religions correct? Is a human being an eternal spirit temporarily managing a human physical body?° c) Are the atheists correct?° Are humans only clumps of dust that have somehow magically acquired a consciousness -- a consciousness that will cease to be when the physical body dies? Each of these three possibilities gives a different conclusion regarding the meaning and significance of intentional pregnancy termination (in-pre-term / inpreterm). . |
.

|
. 2)
The "I Am My Body" Proclamation Is a human being his/her physical body as the fundamentalist Christian leaders tell us? Does God really step in and create a brand new human being EVERY time a human egg and sperm unite?° If these two religious claims are correct, then abortions do, indeed, kill brand new human beings, and secular laws are appropriate. But, the no-choice leaders have two serious problems. First, they have no way to prove that either of these claims are true, and second, the overwhelming evidence points to a very different conclusion. The forced motherhood war is based on the un-provable, religious belief that "a human being is his/her physical body." This faith-based belief conflicts with the scientific evidence which tells us that matter is not matter at all -- that everything that appears to be physical is actually only energy -- and that this non-physical energy is controlled by consciousness. We call this consciousness "God." Some claim to have intimate knowledge about God, but both philosophy and science tell us that we know nothing about what consciousness actually is, how it functions, or where it is located. The "I am my body" belief also conflicts with the Christian Bible which, in numerous passages, such as Ecclesiastes 11:5, clearly distinguishes between the spirit which inhabits an earthly, physical body and the physical body, itself.° The religious question here is: "Are you your physical body?" or "Are you a non-physical spirit being who simply inhabits a physical body to experience life on Earth?" If humans are non-physical, spirit beings as the Christian Bible tells us,° and as the physical evidence seems to indicate, then intentionally terminating a pregnancy is the biological equivalent of halting work on a construction site. If this perspective is correct, then when a pregnancy is terminated, the spirit being (who would have entered the body if it had been fully formed) simply enters a different, newly formed body at a different time. . |

. 3) Life's Greatest Mysteries: We cannot justifiably force impoverished women, naive young girls, hopelessly addicted drug addicts, and the women in your family to become mothers against their will without finding answers to life's greatest mysteries. We do not know when life begins, or if it even begins, at all. Perhaps birth and death are simply changes in form and movements into different dimensions of reality. We do not know the nature of life. We don't know what life is, what its source is, or how that source functions. We do not know the nature of a human being's relationship to that source. We do not know how life originated or where we came from. We do not know how we got here on Earth, why we are here, and where we are going when the body dies. We can only speculate about which of the numerous possible answers to these question are correct. The forced motherhood leaders claim to have answers to these question, but their so-called answers are nothing but un-provable, conservative Christian, religious beliefs. Even the official Roman Catholic Encyclopedia acknowledges that these questions are unanswerable.° And what about the rights of those who believe in a different religion? What about the rights of those who believe in reincarnation? What about the rights of those who believe in no religion, at all? . |
.
.
|
. 4) God's Conception Magic Act: God's Instantaneous, Supernatural, Transcendental, Conception Magic Act° is the foundation upon which the entire anti-abortion war is based. According to his belief, at every conception, God steps in and magically creates a brand new human being as a physical body; the new being lives only once on Earth; and after death, goes to heaven or hell forever. God's "Conception Magic Act" is one of the religious beliefs of conservative, fundamentalist Christianity. It's also an un-provable, fairytale. Its origin dates back to antiquity and has been handed down, (without change) to present- day Christians from those who controlled the Roman Catholic Church during the "Dark Ages." These people believed the Earth was flat.° They also engaged in all kinds of despicable, criminal behavior such as extortion, outright lies, arson, torture, and murder.° But please don't believe this just because we say it's so. Examine the evidence for yourself. See the page titled: Abortion and Christian History.° and the page titled: Was Reincarnation Edited Out of the Christian Bible?° Billions of people do not believe "The Conception Magic Act" story. They follow one of the religious beliefs that teach reincarnation.° Even millions of Christians don't believe in conception magic. They believe that the Christian Bible is correct because in Genesis 2:7° it says that life begins at first breath. There are also millions of people who believe in a Divine Source but do not practice any of the organized religions.° They don't believe "The Conception Magic Act" story, either. Read the evidence: In an Essay Format° or In a Question and Answer Format° . |

. 5)
The Forced Motherhood Leaders In more than ten years of researching this issue, this author has yet to come across a single forced motherhood leader or a forced motherhood follower who is not: 1) a fundamentalist Christian, 2) a conservative Catholic, or 3) a member of the Roman Catholic hierarchy. That's not to say such people don't exist; it's that they are extremely rare. On the pro-choice side, there is almost everyone else, including billions who believe in reincarnation, millions of open-minded Christians and the vast majority of those who acknowledge the universal spiritual principles.° For an inclusive list, please see the page titled: For Whom Do You Speak?° The anti-choice stance of the forced motherhood leaders is based solely on Christian theology. Their single-pointed, religion-based behavior makes the anti-choice war a conservative, Christian, religious crusade. It's right-wing, conservative Christians against the infidels, which in essence is conservative Christians against everybody else, including moderate and open-minded (liberal)° Christians. The goal of those leading the forced motherhood movement is not saving babies. It's money! It's ego! It's political power! It doesn't take much looking to see that the so-called "pro-life movement is a multi-billion-dollar cash cow. It's a cash cow for the those leading the insane charge into forced motherhood. When you examine their theology, you'll notice that over the centuries and for the sake of money and power, Christian theology has been grossly distorted from the original teachings of Jesus. And so today, the no-choice leaders are adamantly pushing the laws in America into closer and closer alignment with their mindless dream of creating a Christian Theocracy in America. They've also hoodwinked millions of gullible Christians into turning their minds off and simply following orders -- orders that they've been told come directly to the leaders from God. The followers are told that what happens around them is all but irrelevant. The end of the world ( "The Rapture") is coming any day now, and the faithful will simply be lifted off the Earth, away from the chaos and misery, and and ushered straight into heaven to be with Jesus. The no-choice leaders then say, "send us Money," but what those same leaders don't say is that "The Rapture" story has been on the "it's-coming-any-day-now" list for about nineteen-hundred years.

. 6) Life's Three Basic Assumptions: When we examine intentional pregnancy termination (in-pre-term / inpreterm) within each of life's three major assumptions, Christian one-life-ism, atheism, and reincarnation,° we find three very different conclusions regarding what abortion is and what it means. Because the three conclusions are mutually exclusive and because two of them must be missing a major piece of the truth, one has to ask, "Which one of these three assumptions is correct?" No one can provide us with a conclusive answer to that question because there are no provable answers,° only conjecture, guesswork, and speculation. Thus, the question, "Is abortion right or wrong?" belongs in the realm of religion and philosophy where it has been hotly debated for centuries. In a free society, beliefs about reality, including guesswork, conjecture, speculation, and Medieval Religious Fairytales° are not the basis for passing secular laws which force one group's religious beliefs onto everyone else. Attempting to do so clearly violates our God-granted and constitutionally guaranteed right to religious freedom! . |
.
.
|
. . 7) The Political Perspective Now let's look at personal freedom which is at the core of the forced motherhood controversy and let's examine it in the context of The United States Constitution and the relationship between church and state. From the very beginning, going all the way back to the Pilgrims in 1620, America has been a haven for those seeking religious freedom. In order to insure everyone's safety and everyone's rights, our Founding Fathers included in the Constitution, the guarantee of religious freedom for every individual and the right to the free expression and practice of every religious belief. The goal is to protect everyone’s religious rights. The goal is not to exclude "God" from the government. That is literally impossible because humans cannot separate their divine nature from the governments they create. The goal is to make sure everyone has the right to relate to "The Source of All" in any fashion he/she chooses, including the right to deny that such a source even exists. Our Founding Fathers told us, the best way to do that is to acknowledge the universal spiritual nature of man, and at the same time, keep the activities of church and state as distinct and separate as possible. Two hundred and thirty years of American history has proven them right. For a detailed analysis of the relationship between church and state, see the page titled: Church and State -- How Do They Relate? -- How Do We Honor Everyone's Religious Freedom?° . The Ignored Majority: The forced motherhood leaders ignore constitutionally guaranteed religious rights of every other religion,° including Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, as well as Sheiks, Jains, and Native Americans. They also ignore the religious rights of millions of people who hold strong spiritual values° and acknowledge a Divine Source, but do not participate in the worship rituals set forth by any of the major religions. And they ignore millions of practicing Christians who believe in and follow the values put forth by Jesus in the Christian Bible and who do not want the leaders of the ultra-conservative faction of the Christian religion interfering with the American political system. The Major Source of Tyranny: Anytime someone attempts to control others while believing that he is doing so under orders from God, violence and misery soon follow. The quote below, from Jay Bookman, Deputy Editorial Page Editor for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, makes this clear and gives us the real reason why the right-wing, Christian, political steamroller needs to be derailed and overturned: "There is no case in recorded human history, regardless of era or culture, in which religion and government have been intertwined without eventually compromising basic human freedoms." (Quote printed in the (Los Angeles
Area) And as you well know, the Christian church has a rather dismal record when it comes to honoring non-believers. See the page titled: Abortion and Christian History.° and the page titled: Was Reincarnation Edited Out of the Christian Bible?° Those who favor freedom have always been at odds with religious extremists. Using the forced motherhood issue as a tool to collect money° and to combine church and state° is simply the latest wave of religious extremism. Who Decides: In areas such as abortion -- areas where there is no tangible evidence to support any hard and fast conclusions -- whom do you want to make your irreversible, life-altering decisions? . |
.
.
|
. Four Additional factors: 1) Follow the Money Trail: You've probably heard this truism: "If you want to know the truth about anything on planet Earth, follow the money trail." Well, that also applies to the anti-choice war. See the page titled: Controversy Sells, and It's a Multi-billion Dollar Business.° 2) God Is a Baby Murderer: The forced motherhood leaders claim God as their authority for opposing abortions. BUT: if their theology is correct, then God is, by far, the vilest, cruelest, most despicable and most detestable baby murderer° in all of human history. And Genesis 2:7° and Ecclesiastes 11:5, RSV° in the Christian Bible must be wrong. 3) Who Is the Real Leader of the Forced Motherhood Movement: In the absence of conclusive evidence about the consequences and meaning of intentionally terminating a pregnancy, who or what are the forced motherhood leaders following?° Is it possible that they've been duped by the Devil on the abortion issue?° 4) Who Decides: In areas such as abortion -- areas where there is no tangible evidence to support any hard and fast conclusions, whom do you want to make your irreversible, life-altering decisions? . |
.
.
|
. The Bottom Line: You can't know the significance of abortion until you can, with provable certainty, answer the above questions and dozens more equally puzzling and equally unanswerable, religious questions.° Any conclusions regarding abortion that are turned into secular law and forced onto people cannot be based only on religious fairytales.° (More Evidence)° In order to provide provable answers about what abortion really is and what it means, those answers must be based upon knowledge about God and provide provable answers to each of the above religious questions. Answering the above religious questions is quite literally impossible. Philosophers, scientists, and religious scholars have been debating these questions for centuries, and the only concrete answer they have yet offered is that: . When
discussing God or religion, . Your Choice: You are foolish to believe what we say. You are equally as foolish if you disbelieve us. But you are a fool's fool if you simply ignore this message. We invite you to look at the evidence, here and elsewhere. Let the evidence lead you where it will. Then make up your own mind about how you will respond to the truth. "Know the truth and the truth will set you free." .
. When we examine what abortion (inpreterm) is and what it means, billions of people believe stories (religious or otherwise) that are different from those being peddled by the forced motherhood leaders. This leads us to the following conclusion: . |
|
. Abortion Is a Religious Freedom Issue! We
Invite You, or Anybody Else, . To anti-choice media, we say: "Invite us to discuss the religious aspect of the abortion issue on your radio or TV talk shows."To church leaders who support forced motherhood, we say: Invite us to discuss the religious aspect s of the abortion issue in front of your church members.Let's let the evidence speak for itself: We dare you to expose your audience or your church members to the evidence supporting the conclusion that abortion is a religious freedom issue, and then you or anybody else can offer any evidence you can find to prove this claim to be false. To those who favor forced motherhood, we say, "It's time to walk your talk." You claim to be in favor of free speech. You claim to be in favor of religious freedom.° Prove it! The evidence, such as the Global Gag Rule,° points strongly in the opposite direction. If your words are more than just hollow shells, then it's time to support those words with tangible, provable evidence. Let's openly and publicly talk about the relationship between forced motherhood (anti-abortion) and religion. Let's let the evidence speak for itself. We think it's time for moderate and open-minded Christians to take back Christianity.° . |
.
.
|
. If
You Favor Religious Extremism Let's find out which side in this controversy is using lies of omission.° Let's find out which side claims the Christian Bible as its authority and then ignores the passages that contradict its claims. (Genesis 2:7, Ecclesiastes 11:5, and more)° Let's find out which side in this controversy is stifling freedom of speech.° Let's find out which side in this controversy is distorting the truth and using inflammatory rhetoric.° Let's find out which side in this controversy is simply transferring death to other beings in other places at other times.° We offer you the opportunity to prove you are right° and everybody else is wrong: Take the Abortion Truth Challenge.° We invite you to prove the validity of your claims to have the answers to life's unanswerable questions° -- questions such as "How does God function?" (Ecclesiastes 11:5)° and "When does an independent human life begin?"° Then let's talk about forced motherhood. Let's talk about the consequences of anti-choice activities.° Let's talk about what it does to the women and to the naive young girls who are forced to become baby factories.° Let's talk about what you did today to save the lives of the 40,000 children who starved to death today or died of curable diseases° -- and the 40,000 who will die tomorrow, and the 40,000 who will die the day after that, and the day after that. Let's find out which side in this controversy is afraid of the truth. .
. "Know the truth and the truth shall set you free." (John 8:32) The evidence tells us that the truth about reality is so big that we can't know all of it. What if some of the stories currently being passed off as "the truth" about forced motherhood and abortion are less than the whole truth?° And one other question: Have you ever been wrong?° While you were being wrong, did you know you were wrong? Is it possible that you are wrong about something, right now? . |
.
.
|
|
The evidence overwhelmingly indicates that the only way to be pro-life is to be pro-choice.° |
